Firewood, Delivered the Dorset Way
At The Log Yard Dorset, we deliver all our firewood loose tipped, bringing it to you as close to your storage area as access allows. Whether you’re stocking up for the colder months or just topping off your pile, we’ll make sure your logs arrive on time, ready to burn.
We handle every delivery ourselves – no couriers, no confusion – just good, honest local service.

How We Deliver
Loose-Tipped Loads: All deliveries are made loose and tipped from our vehicle – ideal for stacking in your chosen spot.
Delivered as Close as Possible: We’ll tip the logs as near as we safely can to your log store or storage area.
Clear Access Required: Please ensure there’s suitable access for our vehicle, and that the tipping area is clear on delivery day.
Special Instructions: If you have specific delivery requirements (e.g., tight access, gates, pets on site), please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Load Sizes
Load sizes are tailored to suit your order, so you get exactly what you need – no more, no less.
Our largest off-the-shelf delivery is two full loads, which is roughly the equivalent of four dumpy bags of firewood. Whether you need a small top-up or a full load (or two!), we’re happy to advise on what will best suit your needs and space.
All logs are seasoned or kiln-dried, low in moisture, and ready to burn.
How to Store Your Logs
To get the best from your firewood, it’s important to store it correctly. Here are our top tips:
Keep it Dry: Store your logs off the ground and protected from rain – a raised base and a waterproof cover or roof works best.
Let it Breathe: Good air circulation is key. Don’t fully enclose your stack – allow airflow from the sides to keep the wood dry.
Use a Log Store: A purpose-built log store with a slatted design is ideal, but a simple pallet base and a breathable cover can do the job well.
Stack Neatly: Stack logs loosely rather than tightly packed to help airflow and drying.
Rotate Older Logs: Use older logs first, and keep newer deliveries stacked behind or beside them to season further if needed.
