Welcome to The Log Yard Dorset. These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed with us, whether online, by phone, or in person. By placing an order, you agree to the following terms.
1. Who We Are
The Log Yard Dorset is a family-run firewood supplier based in Dorset. We supply seasoned and kiln-dried firewood, delivered loose and tipped, to homes and businesses across the local area.
2. Products & Availability
All firewood is sold loose and tipped, not in bags unless otherwise agreed. Our logs are seasoned or kiln-dried and ready to burn, but as a natural product, sizes, shapes, and moisture levels may vary slightly.
We reserve the right to adjust product availability, pricing, and delivery options without prior notice.
3. Pricing
All prices are quoted in GBP (£) and include VAT at the reduced rate of 5%, in accordance with UK regulations for domestic fuel.
Delivery is free within a 25-mile radius of our yard for all orders over £100.
Orders under £100 or outside this area may incur a delivery charge, which will be confirmed at the time of ordering.
4. Orders & Payment
Orders can be placed via phone, email, or through our website.
We accept the following payment methods:
- Bank transfer
- Cash on delivery
- Card payments – at delivery or online
- Payment links – invoices can be sent with a secure link to pay at your convenience
Payment is due on receipt of delivery, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
A VAT receipt is available upon request.
5. Delivery
All deliveries are made as loose-tipped loads, tipped as close as reasonably possible to your chosen area, depending on safe access.
Please ensure:
- There is suitable access for our delivery vehicle
- The tipping area is free of obstacles
- Children and pets are kept safely clear during delivery
If you have specific delivery instructions (such as narrow access, locked gates, or livestock), please let us know at the time of ordering so we can plan accordingly.
We do our best to deliver on the agreed date and time, but we are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
6. Load Sizes
Our firewood is delivered loose, and quantities are based on your order.
Our largest off-the-shelf delivery is two full loads, which is approximately equivalent to four dumpy bags.
We’re happy to advise on quantities based on your usage and storage space.
7. Storage & Use
To get the best performance from your firewood:
- Store logs off the ground, protected from rain
- Use a ventilated log store or stack with airflow from the sides
- Cover the top, but keep sides open for ventilation
- Stack loosely to help logs stay dry and ready to burn
Once delivered, it is your responsibility to store the firewood appropriately. We cannot guarantee performance if the wood becomes wet after delivery.
8. Cancellations & Refunds
If you need to cancel or change your order, please notify us as soon as possible.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before delivery may be subject to a charge.
Once firewood has been delivered and tipped, we cannot offer refunds unless the product is faulty or not as described.
9. Liability
We take care during deliveries, but we are not liable for damage caused to driveways, lawns, or property if tipping is requested in a specific area or if access is restricted.
Please ensure any delivery area is suitable and safe for a tipping vehicle.
10. Privacy
We only collect the personal information necessary to process your order and communicate with you.
We do not share your information with third parties unless required by law.
